Why We Need You

We need a Logistics Coordinator who can take charge of this critical role, seamlessly managing the flow of shipments and coordinating with our internal teams and external partners. At Grain Millers Inc, logistics is the backbone of our operations, ensuring that the raw grains we rely on make their way to our facilities smoothly and efficiently.

Who You'll Be Working With

You'll work daily with grain merchandisers to assess freight needs and coordinate schedules. You'll also partner with the trucking company manager to dispatch internal trucks and negotiate with third-party carriers. Additionally, you'll interact with customers to discuss special handling requirements, while providing critical updates and guidance to our drivers.

Your knowledge of trucking regulations and agriculture gives you an edge, and you're the go-to person for smooth operations under pressure. Adaptable, organized, and dependable, you're exactly who we need on our team.

• Communicate daily with merchandizers on freight needs.
• Update schedules daily.
• Book delivery and pick-up times with trucking companies (both internal and external).
• Follow through with loads to ensure they are on track for timely delivery.
• Send appropriate documentation to freight companies for smooth delivery.
• Coordinate with GMI trucking company manager on what loads can be handled internally.
• Dispatch GMI trucks weekly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within the logistics or supply chain industry preferred.
• Familiarity with logistics software (ERP) and supply chain management software preferred.
• Experience negotiating with third party carriers.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to read maps and plan routes.
• Knowledge of trucking hours-of-service regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of farming and agriculture preferred.
