Grain Millers Inc. is seeking a Food Technologist to join our corporate team in Eden Prairie, MN.

The Food Technologist is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of products from concept through to commercialization. This role will also support quality and compliance of consumer-packaged goods through management of information related to suppliers, ingredients, products and packaging materials and customer requests.

Responsibilities:

• Supports development of new products: including bench top formulation, packaging changes, quality standard development and plant scale-up
• Supports continuous improvement and cost savings projects.
• Develops and maintains ingredient, packaging and product specifications.
• Ensures proper documentation related to supplier approval and maintenance of ingredients, packaging, warehouses and co-manufacturers.
• Oversees finished product verification program and ongoing shelf stability testing.
• Assists in completion of customer information and documentation requests related to supplier, product and packaging information.
• Assists sales and customer service activities including consumer response and product information support.
• Evaluates and documents customer complaints, working with involved parties to ensure a positive resolution. Assists in reviewing complaint trends.
• Collaborates with customers to develop and/or achieve project objectives.
• Presents solutions and opportunities to support business growth.
• Attends professional meetings, continuing education classes and workshops to gain additional knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in food science or related field.
• 1-5 years' experience in the food industry in product development or quality related role.
• Food Safety Preventive Controls (PCQI) desired.
• Formal HACCP training/certification desired.
• Ability to interact with vendors, customers, and third parties in a professional manner.
