Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk prepares and coordinates accounts payable and receivable information regarding general ledger and supporting documents. Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. Responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, prepare outgoing mail, and complete various data entry tasks.
The Accounting Clerk will conduct him/herself with integrity, upholding all company policies and procedures, including in the areas of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The Accounting Clerk will guide all words and actions with the principle of "Do the Right Thing, Always."

Responsibilities and regular duties include:

  • Prepare accounts receivable and payable information for general ledger and supporting documents.
  • Daily invoicing of shipment, includes checking for accuracy of charges and Bill of Lading.
  • Verify all bills of lading are correct before invoicing.
  • Send invoices to customers by method of their request (i.e. mail, fax, email, and web).
  • Maintain freight due schedule daily.
  • Data entry of vendor documents in the Accounts Payable sub-ledger after approval by Plant Controller.
  • Match documents with check to be signed by Plant Controller.
  • Assist others in the office when necessary and provide backup of duties to cover for absences or vacations.
  • Prepare reports in Excel and Word.
  • Release inventory PO receipts in system.
  • Answer telephones and directs the caller to the appropriate associate.
  • Greets and directs visitors to the company. Assist in providing beverages and arranging meals as necessary.
  • Will take and retrieve messages for various personnel
  • Prepares out going mail, retrieve mail, sort and distribute to appropriate persons.
  • Assist with data entry in Dynamics SL and various spreadsheets
  • Provides callers with company information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, or other related information.
  • Assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years experience; prefer a AA in accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Detail oriented with ability to review and question abnormalities in invoicing and shipping documentation.
  • Good PC, analytical, and calculator skills
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills and phone etiquette.
  • Possess functional use of MS Office (word, excel, outlook)
  • Appropriate office environment etiquette
  • Possess high organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Ability to work collectively with the administrative team associates
